TRICHOSTAR (Trichoderma viride 1.5% WP): Natural Root Protection for Healthier Crops

Soil-borne fungal diseases are one of the biggest hidden threats in farming. Problems
like damping off, root rot, collar rot, stem rot, and seedling blight can reduce plant survival, weaken growth, and finally lower yield. The biggest challenge is that these diseases start below the soil surface—often before symptoms become visible.

TRICHOSTAR (Trichoderma viride 1.5% WP) is an eco-friendly biofungicide/biocontrol agent that helps manage soil and root fungal diseases naturally. Unlike chemical fungicides, TRICHOSTAR does not contain a chemical molecule—its strength comes from living beneficial spores of Trichoderma viride, a naturally occurring soil fungus.

How TRICHOSTAR works

TRICHOSTAR protects crops through multiple biological mechanisms:

  • Mycoparasitism: Directly attacks harmful fungi like Fusarium, Pythium, Rhizoctonia, and Sclerotium

  • Competition: Colonizes the root zone and blocks pathogens from establishing

  • Antibiosis: Produces enzymes like chitinase and glucanase that break pathogen cell walls

  • Induced resistance: Boosts plant immunity for stronger long-term defense

  • Growth promotion: Encourages better root mass and nutrient uptake

Best time to apply

For best results, TRICHOSTAR should be used early and preventively—during seed treatment, nursery preparation, before transplanting, or at early crop growth stages. Biofungicides work gradually but give long-term protection when they establish well in the rhizosphere.

Application methods (practical use)

  • Seed treatment: 4–10 g/kg seed

  • Root dip: 10 g/L water (dip seedlings 15–30 minutes)

  • Soil application: 2–5 kg/acre mixed with FYM/vermicompost

Why farmers prefer TRICHOSTAR

It is residue-free, improves soil microbial activity, reduces dependence on chemical fungicides, and supports healthier crop establishment.
